Dr. Megan Nervi is a licensed Clinical Psychologist who specializes in psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, hypnotherapy, mindfulness practices, and art therapy techniques. In her practice, she treats children, adolescents, and adults struggling with issues around anxiety, depression, life transition, grief/loss, and trauma.
Dr. Nervi attended Widener University where she earned her doctorate in clinical psychology in 2007. Since then, she has served on staff a local universities providing psycho-educational workshops, individual and group therapy for students in that setting. She has also been part of a number of local group practices.
Most recently, Dr. Nervi completed her Level I and Level II training in clinical hypnosis from the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH) and enjoys using hypnosis to help patient’s explore difficult thoughts and feelings that might not otherwise be part of their conscious awareness. She is currently a member of the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis.
Dr. Nervi has also completed a number of training workshops in expressive art therapy and enjoys incorporating art into her clinical work with patients. She appreciates how the arts can help create meaning for people that might otherwise struggle to communicate emotions and experiences through talk therapy.
In addition to her other professional affiliations, she is also a member of the American Psychological Association, the New Jersey Psychological Association, as well as the Morris County Psychological Association.
